He said if you play, you play for keeps...

Merry (late) Christmas everyone! ♥

Christmas Eve I had a lovely dinner with J at Kobe Jones.

Alannah Hill Wear It Everyday cami
Forever21 silk skirt
Country road cardigan (not here)

A little bit of Christmas spirit with some subtle red and green eyeshadow!

The food was very delicious! Descriptions from Kobe Jones' menu.

Lollypop sushi - tuna, kingfish, salmon, crab salad, asparagus and smelt roe, wrapped in thinly peeled cucumber with soy sauce vinaigrette

Sizzled Sashimi Carpaccio - salmon sizzled with heated extra virgin olive oil, and drizzled with wasabi pepper sauce

Mushroom Medley Tobanyaki - oven baked assortment of exotic mushrooms in our special cream sauce

For Christmas, I decided to spoil myself, and bought an iphone (yes I conformed *hangs head in shame), a pair of heavily reduced heels from Sportsgirl, NARS Rated R Duo and YSL lip palette!

Get me out of here

Last night was the first time in more than ten years where I fell asleep hugging a soft toy. It was a rather ugly pink teddy with the softest fur. I could've displayed better taste and took the most adorable piggy off my dresser, but in my state of mind it didn't seem to matter. /nonesense

Had an absolute blast bar hopping with S and S Friday night.

I was in a rush and managed to do both my makeup AND hair in 30 minutes! Personal achievement? I think so!

I forgot to take a clearer picture of my makeup but it was quite simple,

It's time to take off your mask

Why yesterday was a horrible day:
- There was no ice cream in the fridge
- So I hopped over to woolies, and on the way, a bird decided to excrete on my leg
- Playing basketball at night, I stepped on a girl's foot and sprained me ankle. Now usually when I roll my ankle, it goes back to normal within an hour, but almost a day later, it's swollen and I'm hobbling.
FML moments.

I received a few gargeous Essie polishes as part of a KK present, and this colour, St. Lucia Lilac, was my favourite! Excuse the smudges - I should really invest in a quick dry top coat!

And with China Glaze Fairy Dust over the top

You can see my heart beating

In the past week or so I've probably physically shopped more than I've done for the past year. Apart from emptying my wallet I've been catching up with friends and basically getting back on track again!

Craving for a sugar hit, I went to Max Brenners with E and L. The more the chocolate the better right? Our bloated stomac
hs certainly disagreed even a few hours later. No sweets for me for a while I think!

But you had no memories

Apologies for lack of blogging recently. The inner nerd in me comes out and says that if I use the analogy of a business cycle, the past few months would be a recession, and the past few weeks, a trough. Luckily it's no GFC and after a fantastic day yesterday I feel I'm on the upturn again!

here

Someone once told me that a person shouldn't go out of their way to make something happen, and that there's no point in waiting.

here

That waiting will bring you neither happiness nor satisfaction.

And as much as it's in my nature to disagree with such a commnet, it's slowly, perversely, beginning to make some sort of sense.

Do you get a little kick out of being so mundane?

Went to Sculptures by the Sea with a few friends today - lovely sunny weather and good exercise i guess!

Love how clear and blue the water is:)

We wrapped ourselves inside a dirty blanket

♥ Memories are made in the coldest winter

Remember when getting high meant swinging on the playground?
When protection meant wearing a helmet?
When the worst things you could get from boys were cooties?
Dad’s shoulders were the highest place on earth and mum was your hero?
Your worst enemies were your siblings.
Race issues were about who ran the fastest.
War was only a card game.
And the only drug you knew was cough medicine.
When wearing a skirt didn’t make you a slut.
The most pain you felt was when you skinned your knees, and goodbyes only meant until tomorrow?

And we couldn’t wait to grow up

From

"If you like rainbows you gotta deal with the rain." -- Dolly Patterson

I really liked this quote until I realised last night, what if the rain turns into a thunderstorm, and the rainbows never come?

I break the rules, so i don't care

I had dinner at Hilton's Glass Brasserie on the weekend with D - lovely atmosphere and the food was quite nice, but not as much as Emily hyped it to be.

Oysters

Panfried quail, shaved foigras, salad lyonnaise

Rabbit loin, with chorizo mushroom duxelle, raviolo of leg, herbed rack, baby pear, creamed spinach

Steamed Port Lincoln jewfish, banana prawns, snake beans

My favourite dish would have to be the panfried quail - tender deliciousness! (Apologies for my lack of photography skills!)

You fill up my senses, like a night in the forest

I woke up this morning to this big black box on my doorstep

And inside was...
ASOS silk blazer in black
I'm so glad I sized down because the fit is perfect! This blazer is quite thin so it'll be great for these random chilly summer days.

I love stockings and how they suck in the lumps and bumps, but a few drinks laters, they're not too comfortable anymore! Hence I decided to try out Leona Edminston stay-ups, and so far so good.

And plus, how gorgeous is the packing?

A friend linked me to this, John Denver's Annie Song!

Since she brought you down.

I finally received my liptars that were on backorder from IMATs!

Here are some swatches

Pagent

Hush

Pagent + Hush (this is my favourite combination!)

I've read so many reviews that said "a little goes a long way" and finally understood what that meant when I tried these out. You literally need a pen-point sized ball of product and that's more than enough for your entire lip! I love how versatile these lip tars are - you can mix them with each other or layer under existing lipsticks, and the lasting power is quite good too. However, it can get a bit dry, and my main gripe with this is trying to find a little airtight container to store mixtures of colours in.

OCC seemed to have downsized their lip tars from 10ml to 8ml, but since you need so little product everytime, I guess it doesn't make that much of a difference.

For those in Australia, your can purchase these at http://www.makeupandglow.com.au/

IMATS Sydney 2009

On Sunday I went to IMAT with gorgeous Jean! Whilst the number of stalls there and the lack of a MAC stand was a bit disappointing, but I nevertheless had alot of fun wondering around and picking up many bargains!
